Christian Deckart is a director and Chief Investment Officer at Mawer Investment Management Ltd., which he joined in 2013. He is lead manager of the Mawer Global Equity Strategy and co-manager of the Mawer Global Small Cap Strategy.

Previously, Mr. Deckart worked in Zurich, Switzerland, as a portfolio manager for a European Family Office and as an equity analyst at an investment boutique. During his time in Switzerland, he mainly focused on investments in European and North American equities. Prior to this, he was a small/mid cap equity analyst at Merrill Lynch in London, UK, and at Commerzbank in Frankfurt, Germany. He began his career in 1997 with an apprenticeship at Bankhaus Reuschel & Co. in Munich, Germany.

Mr. Deckart was a joint recipient of Investment Executive’s 2019 Fund Manager of the Year award.

Mr. Deckart received a PhD and a Diploma in Law from the University of Augsburg, Germany and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
